Jeff Hall
Principal
jhall@scholarcharter.org
My name is Jeffery Hall, and I’m proud to be in my 16th year in education. I’ve spent four and a half years as a Vice Principal and just completed my first year as Principal. Before that, I taught for over a decade, primarily in upper elementary grades.
My favorite part of being in education is working with students to overcome challenges and grow into their best selves. I believe in understanding every person's perspective before taking action, and I see education—in all its shapes and forms—as a key to a meaningful, fulfilling life.
I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education and a Master’s in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Phoenix. I completed my administrative licensure through Utah State University. I also earned a technology endorsement from Southern Utah University and graduated from the E-mints program, a two-year course focused on meaningful technology integration to deepen student learning.
Over the years, I’ve been honored with some exciting recognitions. I was named one of Utah’s top five finalists for Teacher of the Year by the Utah State Board of Education. The Granite Association recognized me for my work with Gifted Children, and I’ve also served as a Technology Specialist for the Granite School District.
Fun fact: I once played Plinko on The Price is Right—and won!
I’ve been married for 17 years and have three amazing kids, all of whom have attended Scholar Academy. I love camping, playing guitar, 3D printing, video games, visiting family, and pretty much anything that lets me tinker with technology.

Hello! My name is Ashley Tignor. I have been part of Scholar Academy since its opening in 2014! During this time, I have had the privilege of teaching first and second grade, as well as being an instructional coach. I have absolutely loved my time teaching and coaching, and I am now excited to embark upon my new journey as Vice Principal.
I have a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education from Utah State University and Masters degrees in Educational Leadership and Curriculum and Instruction from Western Governors University. I also have a technology endorsement from Southern Utah University. Education is very important to me, and I am passionate about working with students to encourage their own love of learning. It is amazing to witness students' growth and celebrate their many achievements through their educational experience.
My husband and I have been married for 20 years and have 2 amazing children! Some hobbies of mine are reading, traveling, crafting, cooking and spending time with my family.
As Vice Principal, I am eager to use my experience and enthusiasm to further enhance our students' success, student and family engagement, and our positive and effective school environment. I look forward to continuing to support our incredible school community, working collaboratively with students, parents, and staff to create an environment where every student can thrive. I feel very fortunate to be a part of Scholar Academy and I am thrilled to have the opportunity to do what I love.
I look forward to our wonderful school year together!
Michele D'Avignon
School Counselor
mdavignon@scholarcharter.org
My name is Michele D'Avignon. This is my eighth year working as a school counselor, and I have the great honor of counseling at Scholar Academy.
Before getting my master’s degree from Utah State University, I worked as a classroom teacher at Lava Ridge Intermediate School in Santa Clara, Utah for 10 years. I was privileged to work as a Special Education teacher, English as a Second Language (ESL) Coordinator, At-Risk, Social Studies, and Language Arts teacher over the course of my tenure. I currently teach adults English at Horizonte Instruction and Training Center in Salt Lake in the evenings.
As a counselor, I will be working with your child to develop social and emotional skills to help them succeed at school. This process requires classroom lessons, small group sessions, and individual counseling. Working with students at the elementary level gives me the opportunity to instill important traits before they move to secondary school. As well as assisting students in junior high school to get them ready to move forward to high school and onto a career to benefit their future.
I recently moved to Salt Lake City from St. George to be closer to my two children who attend the University of Utah. My son is currently in his doctorate program for Astrophysics, and my daughter will be graduating this year with her bachelor’s degree in graphic arts. They are the pride and joy of my life!
I look forward to working and supporting your children this year at Scholar Academy!

Scout the Owl
School Mascot
Hi! I'm Scout! I was born in 2012. As a kid, I would fly to the highest tree and watch kids get dropped off at school. I knew then that I wanted to be a mascot.
When I was 2, I got to go to school. School was my favorite part of the day. As the years passed, people looked up to me. I think I wanted to be a mascot mostly because I'm caring, nice, and always look up to people.
When I was 6, my one wish was granted. I became the mascot for Scholar Academy. I had an owl dance party!
