Calligraphy:
In this course you will learn the fundamentals of calligraphy, the art of beautiful writing. You will learn 5 alphabets: Italic, Old English, Uncial, Copperplate and Brush lettering. You will be taught how to write with broad point pens, pointed pens, and brushes. Each alphabet style will include assignments incorporating the elements of art and the principles of design, highlighting your lettering.
Teacher Bio:
I was raised in Davis CA, got my BA and teaching credential from UCSB. Since then, I have taught art, calligraphy, and ceramics in a variety of schools here in Santa Barbara. I have enjoyed teaching ceramics here at Dos Pueblos High School since 2006, sharing my throwing skills and hand building techniques with many enthusiastic students.
