ESL (English as a Second Language): ESL students who qualify attend ESL for one period per day. There is collaboration between the ESL teacher and the student's other teachers. Multilingual learners (MLs) work with a certified ESL teacher to support reading, writing, speaking and listening of English.
Basic Skills: Basic Skills is offered in both Mathematics and English for students who qualify per the School Data Team. Multiple data points are used to choose students who need the additional support. Basic Skills instruction occurs with a certified ELA or Math teacher who works with students in small groups to close achievement gaps and increase skills.
Extra Help: Teachers offer Extra Help at least one time per week for 30 minutes.
National Honor Society Tutoring: Our students in the National Honor Society offer peer tutoring before and after school to all students.
Academic Support: This is a period assigned to students who qualify for the extra supports. Students are chosen using multiple measures as well as consultation from teachers, guidance and other staff members.
I&RS (Intervention & Referral Services): I&RS is a team consisting of staff, personnel, and parents to determine interventions that may be needed for a student to experience success in school. The I&RS team works with students and families to increase academic success, improve student attendance, as well as interventions for behavioral, social emotional, and mental health concerns.

Saddle Brook High School offers Resource Room and In-Class Support for our students who require these classes per their IEP.
The High School also has two Multiple Disabled Special Education Classrooms. We call this our S.A.I.L. Program (Supporting Academics and Independent Living). Students in our S.A.I.L. program receive academic instruction, alongside life skills, and community based instruction.
