Michelle Soto– High School Counselor 

Ms. Soto joined the Saddle Brook Counseling Department in 2023. She received her B.A. in Political Science from Rutgers University-New Brunswick in 2014 and her M.A. in School Counseling from Montclair State University in 2023. Ms. Soto also completed the advanced counseling certificate program at Montclair in 2023. Before becoming a school counselor, Ms. Soto taught English to primary students in Hanoi, Vietnam, and continued to work in education throughout graduate school. She is a member of both the Bergen County School Counselors Association and the American School Counselor Association.

Kimberly Gerken – High School Counselor 

Mrs. Gerken, currently in her 15th year in Guidance, advises students in Grades 9-12. Before becoming a school counselor, she taught Science at Saddle Brook High School for 12 years. She serves as the Co-Service Learning Coordinator for the district. Mrs. Gerken holds a B.S. in Biology from the College of New Jersey and an M.Ed. in School Counseling from William Paterson University. She is a member of the Bergen County School Counselors Association and the New Jersey School Counselors Association.

Christina Sasson – High School Counselor 

Mrs. Sasson is beginning her 7th year at Saddle Brook High School and her 12th year as a School Counselor. Before becoming a counselor, Mrs. Sasson began her career at Mt. St. Joseph's School in Totowa as a teacher for emotionally disturbed boys and later went on to teach at St. Philip the Apostle School in Saddle Brook. With an undergraduate degree in Speech and Theatre Education, Mrs. Sasson has also taught Drama and directed countless middle and high school plays all over New Jersey. Mrs. Sasson has a B.A. in Speech and Theatre Education from Montclair State University and an M.Ed. in School Counseling from William Paterson University. She is a member of both the Bergen County School Counselors Association and the New Jersey School Counselors Association.

Jessica Oliveira – School Support Counselor 

Ms. Oliveira joined the Saddle Brook Counseling Department in 2021. She began her Saddle Brook career as a shared Elementary School Counselor. This year Ms. Oliveria is serving as district-wide School Support Counselor providing Tier 2 level of support to ensure students' social-emotional, and academic needs are being met. Before becoming a school counselor, Ms. Oliveira worked on a crisis team at ECLC of NJ, a non-profit that services children and adults with Special Needs. She received her B.A. in Psychology from Ramapo College in 2014 and her M.A. in School Counseling in 2019 from the College of Saint Elizabeth. She is a member of the Bergen County School Counselors Association.

Students wishing to make changes to their schedule may do so by consulting with their guidance counselor and completing an add/drop form within 15 school days of Semester 1 (full-year and Semester 1 courses) and Semester 2 (Semester 2 courses only).
