Hi! I am so excited to be your kindergarten teacher! This will be my 10th year teaching kindergarten and my 19th year in education. I grew up in Center Conway and attended Pine Tree School as a student. I strive to instill the love of learning to all my students while working together as a team to create an exciting, fun and creative learning environment. My favorite part of teaching kindergarten is working with five and six year olds and watching the amazing growth that happens! We will have so much fun playing, exploring and creating! My Life as an Educator

I knew from a very early age that I wanted to be a teacher. I started my formal teacher training at the University of Maine at Orono, where I received my undergraduate degree in 1994. While at the University I enjoyed working at Chapel Road Preschool during the school year and Upward Bound during the summer. Since that time I have earned my M.Ed. from Antioch New England.

After graduation, I accepted my first official teaching job at Phippsburg Elementary School where I taught fifth and sixth-grade math and science. In 1995, I got married and moved to the Mount Washington Valley where I started my career with the Conway School District. I have since worked as a math teacher at Kennett Middle School and as a classroom teacher and a library media specialist at the elementary level. The best part of my job is that I get to work with all the incredible students and staff at Lakeside Primary School!

My years in the Conway School District have been very rewarding. I have been fortunate to teach with dedicated and talented educators. I have also gotten to know hundreds of incredible children and their families. I look forward to many more years of working with the children of MWV and instilling in them a love of learning, self-confidence, and the skills they need to lead a fulfilling life.

My Life Outside School

When I am not at school I love spending time with my family. I have two grown children who are both alumni of Pine Tree School and Kennett High School! As a family, we love to travel and explore new places. We also enjoy playing board games; our current favorite is Ticket to Ride!

I love to read! I am especially fond of sharing good books with kids of all ages.

I also enjoy movies and binge-watching old sitcoms. I love to go for long walks, especially on the beach!

I am excited to start another year teaching kindergarten. I have taught Kindergarten for over 21 years and have been in education for over 27 years. My last 15 years have been in SAU #9 at Conway Elementary School. My heart has always been in Kindergarten. Every year I am amazed at how much the Kindergarteners grow during this year. I love being part of children's social and academic growth during this crucial first year. As a community of learners, we have fun while gaining confidence, and independence and instilling a love of learning.

Outside of school, spending time with my family and dog is my favorite thing. I have two grown boys, both CES, KMS and KHS alumni. Curling up with a good book and a cup of hot cocoa is another way I enjoy spending my time.

Welcome to Kindergarten! My name is Mrs. Gordon. I am SO excited to be your teacher this year! This will be my 7th year in the Conway School District. Before making the move to the Mountain Washington Valley, I worked in Massachusetts and southern New Hampshire. Kindergarten is such a special age group to teach, and the growth we see over the year is always remarkable! My hope is that each and every child falls in love with learning, and that they can all laugh, play, and grow throughout that process!

When I am not in school I love to be outside with my family and friends. We enjoy skiing/xc skiing, hiking, biking, tennis, and spending time by the water. I have a one year old son, and a dog named Sawyer. They both love to adventure outdoors too!
