We certainly do not advocate being online for extended periods of time, but here are some ideas for enrichment.
This is always a great idea to practice. Students in grades 2-8 have started their typing lessons for the year. It is not too early, however, to introduce this to your younger children as well! Here are some links for typing. This includes the link to our learning program, Typing Club, and also a selection of typing games.
Kodable: See codes to enter classes on Coding page
Code.org: Grade level links can be found here (email me at llichtenberg@sau79.org if you forgot your password)
Swift Playgounds: Download this to your iPad or Mac and learn how to code! This is taught in 6th grade.
Hopscotch: A favorite amongst our students! This program is taught in 5th grade. If your child would like to try and access their game from home, you will need to download the app and email me at llichtenberg@sau79.org for a username and password). You can also purchase your own account.
Code Academy: This is a great website for students in 7th and 8th grade students. Students can choose their programming language and learn through their online courses
VidCode: This is another great website for students in 7th and 8th grade students
Find all sort of other links on my Hour of Code page (note: some activities are only available during the week of Hour of Code, so some links may not work at this time)
