FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Using Mystery Science at home
- Can parents do hands-on activities at home? We designed our lessons to rely on simple supplies. Parents might have many of the materials at home or can readily find them at local stores or on Amazon. If you’re planning to have parents do activities at home, you may want to send students home with the needed printouts. To make printing easier for multiple lessons at a time, we’ve created grade-level PDFs with all printouts: www.mysteryscience.com/printouts
- I’m in a free trial/my membership has expired. Can I still use the student links? Yes! During this time, teachers in expired trials can share student links. We want to do all we can to support you, your students, and their families, to make learning science at home as easy as possible.
- Don’t student links expire in 10 days? Normally, student links do expire in 10 days — but we’ve extended them through June to make it easier to support students during school closures.
- No internet at home? Download the student mode lessons for offline viewing at home. Open the student link for any full lesson and click on the “Download Mystery" button. Downloading works best using the Google Chrome browser and may take 5+ minutes depending on the internet speed. Make sure you keep the browser window open and don’t turn off the computer. The lesson will play from the browser even when offline.
