Third Graders Continue Trail Maps

After looking at a variety of maps and seeing map symbols in action, the third graders came up with a list of their own key features.

Once they had identified important points of interest, it was time to come up with simple, but appropriate symbols. Then these symbols were inserted, resized, placed, and duplicated so they would appear in their map key.

The students are becoming more proficient at searching for images and using the control keys to cut and paste.

Those students who had completed their map and key started the process of adding in their photographs that were taken along the trail. These photographs will be numbered and will correspond to numbers along the trail.

The final step will be to research and choose 3-5 trail tips to add to the back of their pamphlet.
