Hour of Code 2017!

Grade 7: Choice of App Lab on Code.org, Cheer Routine (Python), Pixel Hack, Build an iPhone game, or advancing their work from last year in Swift Playgrounds. Most chose to move farther on Swift Playgrounds!

Grade 6: An introduction to Swift Playgrounds.

Kindergarten: Kodable

Grade 5: Hopscotch App - We learned how to make our own Crossy Road game! Once we learned the basics, we could add on events/conditionals of our own!

Grade 3: Infinity Play Lab - We learned about conditionals through an "unplugged" activity with playing cards. Then we had a chance to try it our ourselves by programming our own Infinity Play Game!

Grade 2: Candy Quest - First we learned about loops using the activity, "Dance Moves" on Google Santa Tracker. Once we got the hang of using loops to simplify our algorithms, we tried it out on our own using Candy Quest. We learned a lot in a short time period!

Grade 1: Switch and Glitch - We learned all about writing algorithms with an unplugged group activity. In pairs, we wrote a six-step code for our "robots". We were able to check our algorithms when we gave them to our robots to try. After we worked as a whole class, we each got to try it out for ourselves using Switch and Glitch. This was a fun activity for us all!

Grade 4: First we practiced writing events/conditionals by creating rules for our "Read My Mind" game. Once we go the hang of creating conditionals, we used Scratch to design our own animated Google Logos
