Snack

Snack is a big deal in kindergarten! We have snack each morning at 9:30. Please pack your child a snack that they can consume in 10 minutes. This is usually only one or two items. Don't forget utensils for yogurts, applesauce, or cut up fruit as well. If students choose to have breakfast from school, they will bring their lunch card to the cafeteria and pick up their snack. We try to give children the responsibility of telling us ("ordering") their own snack and lunch each day, but if this becomes a problem, I'm happy to brainstorm a solution that'll work better for you and your child. Please stay away from sending soda or candy to school.

At RMMS, all classrooms are nut free. Teachers check labels each morning to ensure snacks are not processed in a facility with peanuts or tree nuts, so we can keep the classroom safe for everyone. If your child is bringing a snack to school that is not in its original packaging, please write "nut free" on the package, so we can confirm that it is safe to enjoy in the classroom. If you have any questions or concerns, please reach out to our school nurse, Tena Ferenczhalmy, at tena.ferenczhalmy@sau41.org

Students are encouraged to bring a water bottle to school daily to stay hydrated. RMMS has three water bottle filling stations throughout the school in case your child needs a refill.
