Readers' Workshop
We use a workshop model for reading instruction. It starts with a ten minute mini lesson where I will teach students a new strategy. I will explain it, model it, work in conjuction with the students to practice the skill, and then send them off to read and practice independently. While they are reading independently I will meet with small groups of students for targeted instruction. We will wrap up our workshop with a share or closure activity. Below are the units we will explore throughout the year.
