Students will learn to think and act like scientists and engineers while practicing a variety of skills.  These skills include asking questions and defining problems, developing and using models, planning and carrying out investigations,  analyzing and interpreting data, using mathematics and computational thinking, constructing explanations and designing solutions, engaging in arguments from evidence, and obtaining, evaluating, and communicating information.  In kindergarten, our science units will be:

At times my students become interested in something that's not specifically part of our science curriculum. When time allows, I try to follow student interest and nourish their love of learning. These paths often arise from seeing and questioning something in their environment, wondering further about a book we read or video clip we watch, or interests sparked outside of the school environment and enthusiastically discussed at school with friends and teachers alike.
