Supplies and Wish Lists
Kindergarten Supply List 2023 (with Mrs. Everett's extra notes in red):
1 Package of extra large Elmer's glue sticks (.77 or .86 oz each)
3 Boxes of Crayola triangular crayons, 16 count (Please label each crayon with your child's name)
1 Package of Crayola erasable colored pencils, 12 count (Please label each pencil with your child's name)
1 Package of black skinny Expo low odor dry erase markers (Any extras of these would be fantastic. We use them daily, often for 3-4 different activities.)
2 Packages of thick, Crayola washable markers (10 count) (Please label each marker with your child's name)
Crayola washable watercolor paints, 8 count (Please label with your child's name)
2 4-oz. containers of Play Doh (Please label both with your child's first name)
Children's Fiskars scissors (Pointed tip preferred, please label with your child's first name)
8 Ticonderoga Pencils, Sharpened (we will not use these pencils until later in the year, there is no need to label them)
Elmer's School Glue, Washable
Hard plastic pencil box, approximately 8" x 5" x 2.5" (No need for them to be super giant! Please label with your child's first name)
iPad compatible headphones (no ear buds as they usually don't fit!) (Please open these instead of sending them in store packaging. The kids have a hard time opening them on the first day if they're new in the box. Please label them with your child's first name)
Recent family photo to keep at school (We will use this to help us get to know each other and hang them up for the year.)
Change of clothing in a zip top bag with name (underwear, pants, shirt, socks) in case of spills and accidents. We will keep these at school, until needed. When they are used, the soiled clothing will come back home in a plastic bag. Please replace anything that is sent home promptly.
*We have two students in our classroom this year with the same first name. So, if your child's first name begins with "Co", please also include their last initial when labeling supplies.
Optional:
White cardstock for centers (high need) - we use cardstock frequently to make more durable center materials and charts.
Model Magic Clay
Paper towels - the ones in our classroom are not so absorbent, and when we have spills, we need the good stuff :)
Tissues
Craft Supplies - we do a lot of crafts and learning through play throughout the kindergarten year. These projects are only possible with the generosity of our families. All received supplies will be communal and shared with the entire class. Thank you so much for considering!
If any family is in need of financial assistance with school supplies, please email rmms-office@sau41.org.
You might be thinking that I'm crazy to ask families to label each individual writing utensil. Understand though that in kindergarten, one of our main goals is to help children become more independent, organized, and responsible. At the beginning of the year, that's a lot! So, by having everything labeled that may be left at a center or dropped on the floor, students can find their missing belongings easily and continue on working towards these goals.
What to Bring Daily:
Backpack big enough to fit a folder without bending
Filled water bottle (labeled with your child's name)
Nut-free snacks (we have a morning snack time where children may purchase snacks from school or bring from home)
Shoes appropriate for running and climbing on the playground
Lunch (lunch can be purchased from school if you choose and it does not need to be nut-free)
Outerwear appropriate for the temperature fluctuations (and be aware, we have no air conditioning in the classroom)
Blue Jay home school communication folder (will be distributed one first day of school, this is where you can put any notes or paperwork you'd like me to find)
The Global Read Aloud:
I am excited for our classroom to participate in The Global Read Aloud this fall. Over five weeks, we will read five different picture books by author Jacqueline Woodson and connect with other early elementary students around the country who are reading the same texts. In order to make this happen, we need these six books (they are on our classroom Amazon wish list).

Wish Lists:
As I'm sure you can tell by my website, I am pretty thorough. These wish lists are long, but they are wishes. We have all the materials to run our kindergarten program, but items on this list could enhance our classroom learning if you choose to donate. Anything is greatly appreciated.
