'Our Story'

Complete History of JDBS

"OUR"Story is the opportunity for JDBS students to learn about the history of Hill. More importantly, since it is "OUR"Story it is an opportunity for JDBS students to add their story to the history of Hill. The HHS set up the Our Story panels in the cafeteria, which depict the history of Hill from the 17th Century to modern times. Each class spent time perusing the panels learning more about the rich history of Hill.

The Hill Historical Society hosted a walking tour through the Old Hill Village on Tuesday, September 26th. Students from 4th and 5th grade and an opportunity to learn about and see pictures of the buildings that once stood down by the river, specifically where the old Sanbornton Bridge once stood. John Hayward and Lucy Natkiel brought the history of the Old Village alive.

Please take a moment to look at the book with your student(s). Lastly, a sincere thank you to the Hill Historical Society for all of their hard work on this project. The volunteers of the Hill Historical Society have spent many hours working to create a book for each student and a teacher's edition for each teacher here at JDBS. Their efforts are very much appreciated! We are looking forward to continuing our partnership for years to come.
