Today we arrived in Melbourne. Everyone was tired, but we still persevered through the day. After dropping our luggage off at the hotel, we left to go to the Lume for the Monet exhibition. It was magical and inspirational.
Today, we walked to the graffiti art tour, and on our way we admired the beautiful sights of Melbourne. On the tour, we explored the many streets where street artists come out and create their art/designs. We learned a lot about street art and the various techniques street artists use to create their designs. We even saw two authentic Banksy stencil art designs! After, we went to a workshop where they taught us how to make our own stencils for stencil art. We got to use our stencils for our artworks.
Today, we went kayaking on the Yarra river and learned about the history of the river and Melbourne. We then went on a little tour through Melbourne and one of the universities. We learned about the history of the University. We then did a photography workshop where we learned how to take professional-looking photos using our own phones. Both the kayaking and the workshop were really fun!
We went to the Melbourne Arts Centre and went on a tour of the stages/rooms. We then had a puppetry workshop and had put on skits/performances. We also did a little choreography. Then, we left to go to the National Gallery of Victoria to see the Alexander McQueen exhibition. After dinner, we celebrated my birthday (and another girl's birthday) with eating donuts.
Today, we drove to Healesville Sanctuary. We saw many different animals such as kangaroos, koalas, and platypuses. We watched the bird show outside and it was very sunny. We also stopped by a small bakery to eat lunch where I ate chicken pot pie for the first time (it was delicious!) On the way back, we stopped by a chocolate factory/store.
Today, we admired the beautiful pieces of art at the National Gallery of Victoria and Australia. We learned a lot about the stories of the different artworks. We ate dinner at the Pub, and went to the theatre to watch the Marry Poppins musical. It was amazing. The harmonies were beautiful.
Today, we went to the Blindside Exhibition and looked at a very cool digital art piece. We then went to Melbourne Central to eat lunch. Me and a friend went to eat at a sushi train. It was fun and delicious! We ate our last dinner at the food court near the hotel. After dinner, we walked a long distance to the Royal Botanic Gardens Victoria to watch the new Avatar movie at the Moonlight Cinema. It was my first time watching a movie outside and it was so cool! We saw tons of bats and fireflies! It was getting chilly towards the end. The next day, we headed back to Singapore!
