Firstly I would like to welcome all of our Foundation 2021 students, parents and families to the St Aloysius' School community. At St Aloysius, we aim for excellence in all that we do. I offer a special welcome our new families to the school. I trust you will find it a place where your child will feel safe and supported in their learning.
It is important that we work together in the education of your child. The education that a child receives at home is vital to their development. Our task is to continue the work you have been doing and to ensure that each and every child reaches their full potential.
It is an exciting time to be starting in Foundation 2021 at St Aloysius. Parents will have noticed that we are building a new Junior Hub at the front of the school. You may not be aware that we are also refurbishing all classrooms from Foundation to Year 4 in this phase of our building program. Your children will be learning in beautiful classrooms, providing the best environments for learning.
2021 will be my fifth year as Principal of St Aloysius. I have three children, Sarah (28), Benjamin (26) and Rebecca (24). Together with my wife Susan, we have loved seeing our children develop through primary, secondary and tertiary education. We are proud of their achievements so far. There have been some challenges along the way and I know that the one constant is that they all know they are loved and that we will support in whatever path they chose to take. It is impossible to predict or control where your children will travel or what they will experience, we can only be there to support them when they need us. With that in mind, I ask our parents to work with us, to understand that we have your child's best interests in mind at all times, that we will challenge them, expect high levels of behaviour and respect, and hopefully, with your help, allow them to thrive in all they do. It is a wonderful task and the reason why I am still feeling challenged after 33 years in Catholic Education.
I trust this Google Site will be of use to you and your family. I thank Georgia Watts and Kaitlin Hare who have developed much of its content. I am hoping to get a better picture of myself for future publications of the site but unfortunately we have not been able to find one as yet. (Using an older picture keeps you young!)
Welcome and I look forward to meeting and working with each family and your children in 2021.
Michael Kennedy
