Newsletters are sent out every Wednesday via the Skoolbag App. It is important to read the newsletters as it is the main form of general communication for our school community. The newsletter informs you of what is happening around the school and of upcoming events. SeeSaw is another app that is used in the classrooms and provides you with a snapshot of what the children are learning. A printed copy can also be obtained from the school office. By downloading the Skoolbag app to your mobile device you will receive up to date information; school news, events, alerts, access to the school calendar, absentee forms and other school documents. For information on how to download the app and the current Newsletter password please enquire at the school office.
St Aloysius School uses PAM to provide parents with a range of information related to your child. PAM is utilised to communicate information regarding excursions, permission slips, student absences, student reports and general news and events.
Parent teacher interviews are conducted twice throughout the year. A “get to know you” chat will be held in Term 1 to discuss any questions. A more formal interview is conducted at the end of term 2 to provide an opportunity to discuss your child’s report and learning progress.
Parents/guardians are provided with a written report at the conclusion of Terms 2 & 4. Care needs to be taken whilst unpacking your reports with your child. Try to focus on the positives and look for one or two areas for future improvement. We all respond better when we feel positive about ourselves.
Check your child’s diary daily. Teachers will, at times, place notes or comments re: class activities, upcoming events, child behaviours, etc. We ask that you initial each day as an acknowledgement that you have reviewed the diary. Please reply to any comments or write comments that you feel do not require a face-to-face discussion. Diaries need to be placed in the diary box every morning.
