Unit 6: Human Impact
Essential Question: How do humans impact the environment?
Project Description: The Human Impact project builds students’ awareness of the world around them. Students explore trash found in the environment and learn about different types of waste. Students empathize with animals in the read aloud All the Way to the Ocean and build an understanding of the impact trash has on animals. Students investigate human impact in their community and brainstorm ways to solve the problem of trash in the environment. Students create a Public Service Announcement, PSA, to enact change in their community. The Human Impact project empowers students and develops environmental citizenship.
