Do I have to take the AP exam?

NO! Exams are optional and all require a paid fee.

You are already earning weighted credit by passing the AP course.  The reason for taking the exam would be to earn college credit.

All scholars are encouraged to see what their future schools will accept before committing to the exam - https://apstudents.collegeboard.org/getting-credit-placement/search-policies

What resources are available to help me be successful?

I need reduced exam fees - how do I apply?

*AP will allow reduced fees for students who qualify on the following criteria:

https://apcentral.collegeboard.org/exam-administration-ordering-scores/ordering-fees/exam-fees/reductions

I need testing accommodations - how do I apply?

Students will work with their IEP or 504 case manager to submit accommodation requests.  Schools may NOT submit accommodations requests without student/family permission.

It is not an automatic process and AP asks that all requests are submitted by January for May exams to ensure decisions are made in time.

For more information, visit https://apstudents.collegeboard.org/getting-accommodations/request-exam-accommodations  and/or contact your case manager.

Students with testing accommodations who cannot attend on exam day MUST notify the school in advance.  Accommodations require seperate rooms and proctors at large cost to sites so we appreciate your help to use our resources wisely during the very busy exam season.

Students who require emergency accommodations* due to injury or illness prior to exam day must complete this form:  https://accommodations.collegeboard.org/request-accommodations/request/temporary-assistance-form

*AP has the full authority on these approvals and our experience has not been very successful in getting accommodations this way.... even with broken bones....so it is strongly recommended that you stay very safe during exam season!

I can't log in to my account - who can help?

Your AP Classroom account is private to you only - teachers/coordinators cannot access.

You should try the "forgot password" option first to access your account.

If that is unsuccessful:

explore these FAQ = https://support.collegeboard.org/help-center/account-help

email AP and they should reply within a week = https://form.collegeboard.org/f/ap-services-inquiry

call AP before 3pm since they are in New York = 888-225-5427

I cannot attend school on the exam day?

All exam dates and times are determined by AP so you will need to explore the options they have available - https://apcentral.collegeboard.org/exam-administration-ordering-scores/exam-dates/late-testing-dates

Late exam dates are intended only for students with illness, religious, or athletic conflicts or exams scheduled at the exact same date and time.  AP does NOT consider a morning exam and an afternoon exam on the same day as a conflict as you will have time to eat lunch in between.

You can request a late exam date or otherwise AP suggests you plan to take the exam next year.

How do I contact my AP Coordinator?

Site AP Coordinators are listed on each school's site specific page.
