STEP-BY-STEP INSTRUCTIONS HERE!
*If you are under 13, you have to complete this form with your family first because of online safety laws.
2 = Join AP Classroom using the join code your teacher provided or click here.
NO! Exams are optional and all require a paid fee.
You are already earning weighted credit by passing the AP course. The reason for taking the exam would be to earn college credit.
All scholars are encouraged to see what their future schools will accept before committing to the exam - https://apstudents.collegeboard.org/getting-credit-placement/search-policies
2 steps = LCFF form + Google form
(1) We need all families to complete the LCFF form in Parent PowerSchool Portal or other method offered by the school annually. The short LCFF form (literally 3 questions) is a qualifier for many supports to scholars, schools, and districts, including reduced exam fees.
The district data team will process the LCFF forms and provide no details other than a yes/no qualification to the district AP coordinator. AP allows reduced fees for these criteria: https://apcentral.collegeboard.org/exam-administration-ordering-scores/ordering-fees/exam-fees/reductions
(2) We need all families to complete a Google form specifically requesting that we search for your qualification. We cannot search for your fee qualification without your permission.
*AP has the full authority on these approvals and our experience has not been very successful in getting accommodations this way.... even with broken bones....so it is strongly recommended that you stay very safe during exam season!
All exam dates and times are determined by AP so you will need to explore the options they have available - https://apcentral.collegeboard.org/exam-administration-ordering-scores/exam-dates/late-testing-dates
Late exam dates are intended only for students with illness, religious, or athletic conflicts or exams scheduled at the exact same date and time. AP does NOT consider a morning exam and an afternoon exam on the same day as a conflict as you will have time to eat lunch in between.
You can request a late exam date or otherwise AP suggests you plan to take the exam next year.
Site AP Coordinators are listed on each school's site specific page.
