ETS APCJ

This app is used for AP Chinese and AP Japanese exams only. No personal devices allowed - all test takers must use SDUSD Chromebook.

DO NOT LOG IN

On your SDUSD Chromebook, go directly to "Apps" then select "ETS APCJ"

This becomes the secure testing portal where you cannot do anything but use the testing app until you exit (see the last photo on this page.)

Initializing App

This should not take long.

Six Digit School Code

Enter the school code for the school location you are testing at. After you submit, it will ask you to confirm that is the correct school.

Mission Bay High = 052860

Scripps Ranch High = 052834

Readiness Checks

Click "Run" next to "Calibration Settings" then follow the instructions.

Unify Audio Check

Click "Run" next to "Unify Audio Check" then follow the instructions. On Exam Day you will use headsets with a plugged in cord.

After the "Adjusting the Microphone Volume" there is a short delay before the "Start Recording" window pops up.

Launch Practice Exam

Select the exam and if you have approved accommodations, check the box "Use Accommodations" to practice with time or display adjustments.
You will then go through a practice exam including all sections - Listening and Reading, a short break, then Writing and Speaking. It is not scored - this is just to practice taking the exam in the digital format.
Everything is timed so if you don't see an option to move on, look for a clock in the top right corner to see when you can.
Notice the dropdown keyboard options on the writing portions as the default may not be your preference.

End of Exam

You will likely need to hold the power button on the Chromebook signout.

ON EXAM DAY---> wait for confirmation that the proctor sees your completed exam on their exam management side before you leave this screen!
