Welcome our New Advanced Treble and Madrigals Class of 2025-2026
We strive to achieve excellence in professionalism and musicianship through the practice and diversity of a choral education by tackling a variety of genres, styles, cultures, and historical periods of music. By learning the skills of performing, sight reading, vocal health, concert etiquette, and interpretation of music our students will grow to be more mindful of the work that instills in them self-discipline, dedication, and determination to create quality music that is respectful to its source material. Through the process of musical education, your students will develop skills that will make them effective members of their community and will continue to be advocates for the performing arts in their daily lives.
Our choral program at Mira Mesa High School provides an opportunity for every student to find and develop their own voice. As one of four programs of the Performing Arts Department, the choral program continues to strive for musical excellence and professional development through the vocal arts. This program consists of three classes. Concert Choir is our beginner-friendly class and does not require any experience to join. Our second class is Advanced Treble which is for our more experienced Sopranos and Altos of the program that require an audition to move up. Our last class is Madrigals which is our advanced mixed (SATB) choir class that requires an audition to be accepted.
Our concert choir is a beginner friendly class with no audition required. It's a fun class to participate in and with commitment and honest effort, you'd be passing this class with flying colors. If you have music experience or none at all this class will help you build your musical skills in a comfortable pace in a warm and friendly environment.
Our Advanced Treble ensemble (originally known as Women's Ensemble) is our NEW AUDITIONED (CLICK HERE) FESTIVAL GROUP dedicated to treble (Soprano and Alto) voices for those with some music background. This group travels to perform at showcases, festivals, unique college visits and out of state opportunities. Just like Madrigals, Advanced Treble members are expected to attend our annual Choir Camp at the end of the summer break.
Madrigals is an advanced tour group. Meaning you'd have off-campus concerts throughout the year such as showcases, festivals, college visits and overnight out of state field trip. This class requires an audition and for more audition info: CLICK HERE. Mads students are expected to attend our annual Choir Camp at the end of the summer break. Students at this level are passionate about making music and tend to tackle higher-level music that requires prior experience and some musical knowledge.
Our Instagram account @mmhschoirs is where all of our updates will be posted, like our concerts and field trips that occur throughout the year. Make sure you follow us and check it out!!!
