🔗Cover Sheets and Content Resources
Please watch the Welcome to Common Core Math video found above under the topic "About this Course" before starting any homework assignments.
You should also familiarize yourself with the Scoring Guide (found below under the topic "Big Ideas Math") so that you will know how your homework assignments will be graded.
In addition to Cover Sheets of assignments, each of the webpages linked here contains several video tutorials, the notes from our in-person classes, and any other relevant support materials.
- MONTH 10: Comprehensive Review & Final Exam
🔗Assignments
You will find the lists of specific assignments for each month under the topic "Cover Sheets and Content Resources" above.
Each month you will complete:
Textbook Problems
All textbook assignments must be submitted online via the Big Ideas Math (BIM) website. See the topic "Big Ideas Math" below for more details.
Unless specifically told otherwise on the Cover Sheet, you will also be expected to submit detailed written work for all textbook assignments.
While I will look closely at your written work, I will not "grade" it. Parents will be emailed the solutions and are expected to grade your homework. You should also be checking your own answers in Big Ideas Math (BIM) online so that you know how you are doing.
You will submit your written work to me at the end of the month. You can submit it either digitally through Google Classroom (preferred) or physically to the bin in Room B-16. If you choose to turn in physical papers, just know that I will be keeping your work so that I can refer to it as needed. If you upload it, then we will both have access to it.
A parent must sign the Cover Sheet each month. Even if you submit your work online, you still need to print the cover sheet to get it signed. A digital signature will not be accepted.
Edpuzzles
Edpuzzles are video lessons with embedded questions. You will access your Edpuzzles through Google Classroom.
Edpuzzles are instructional and they are meant to be watched before you do the exercise problems. Always complete your assignments in the order listed on the Cover Sheet.
When completing an Edpuzzle you will be answering questions about the video and solving some practice problems. Always try your best because the score you earn in Edpuzzle will translate into an equivalent amount of homework points and you cannot redo an Edpuzzle.
I recommend having your textbook open to the section the video is about. That way you will have example problems to refer to while you solve the practice problems in Edpuzzle.
You will need scratch paper for most Edpuzzles, but I will not collect it.
Quizzes
You will take one online quiz each month in Big Ideas Math (BIM). Your score will be recorded in PowerSchool. Quizzes account for 10% of your course grade.
You will also earn homework points for turning in your written work for the quiz at the end of the month with the rest of your homework.
The textbook has some practice quizzes in it. Feel free to do those on your own as extra practice (your parents have the answers), but those problems are NOT the same as the ones found online. You can only access the formal quizzes online through Big Ideas Math.
See the topic "Tests and Quizzes" below for more details.
Tests
You will take a pencil-paper test in my room at the end of each academic month on whatever sections we covered that month. Your test score will be recorded in PowerSchool. Tests account for 50% of your course grade.
You will also earn homework points for getting your graded test signed by a parent and returning it to me.
You have the option of taking an online practice test in Big Ideas Math (BIM) each month to add up to 10% Extra Credit to your homework score. While not a total match, there's a strong possibility that you will some very similar questions on the practice test and the real test.
See the topic "Tests and Quizzes" below for more details.
Please refer to this Scoring Guide/Checklist to see how your Cover Sheet assignments will be scored.

You will use Google Classroom to access and submit your Edpuzzles (see "Assignments" above for more information about Edpuzzles). You will also scan and submit your written work to Google Classroom each month.
