Topic: High and Low
Objective: I can tell the difference between high and low sounds.
Vocabulary: high, low
Extensions:
Practice high and low character voices in storytelling. For example, the Three Little Pigs and Baby Bear from "Goldilocks" have high voices. The Big Bad Wolf and Father Bear from "Goldilocks" have low voices.
Ask students to identify whether any sound is high or low. For example, a bird's tweet/chirp is high and a lion's roar is low.
Topic: Space Walks and Object Work
Objective(s): I can use my body to tell a story. I can pantomime my ideas.
Vocabulary: pantomime
Extensions:
Character Development Through Object Work:
Students choose an object that represents their character's profession, hobby, or personality trait.
Each student will pantomime interacting with their chosen object in a specific environment. For example, a chef might pantomime cooking in a kitchen, a musician playing an instrument on stage.
Encourage students to think about how their character would move, react, and express emotions while interacting with the object in their chosen environment.
After practicing individually, students can pair up and perform short improvised scenes where they interact with each other's objects, further developing their characters and improvisational skills.
