Objective: I can keep a steady beat.
Vocabulary: steady beat
Extensions:
Keep a steady beat with any song or poem. Show the beat by clapping, marching, tapping, or have students choose their own way to show the beat!
Review the book “The Pout-Pout Fish” by Deborah Diesen, which we used in this lesson. Tap the beat while chanting the refrain.
Topic: Emotions and Facial Expressions
Objective: I can use my face to show emotions
Vocabulary: facial expression
Extensions:
Watch this video again, pausing to allow students to mirror the faces.
Have students display an emotion using facial expression, other students mimic it and then guess what emotion it is.
Have students draw facial expressions on printed face templates. They then create the face themselves and ask a friend to guess what the emotion is.

Objective: I can create an abstract drawing with thick and thin lines.
Vocabulary: thick, thin, pattern
Extensions:
