Extensions:
Practice moving body parts in many ways like shaking your head and hands, lifting the shoulders one at a time, balancing on one foot, two hands and a foot, one elbow and a knee, etc.
Practice crossing the midlines in the body by touching your right hand to left foot, left elbow to right knee, and skipping.
Practice moving and freezing in personal space with Freeze Dance!
Currently, media arts lessons are only offered in grades 3-5.
Topic: Steady Beat
Objective: I can keep a steady beat.
Vocabulary: steady beat
Extensions:
Keep a steady beat with any song or poem. Show the beat by clapping, marching, tapping your lap, or have students choose their own way to show the beat!
Review the book “The Pout-Pout Fish” by Deborah Diesen, which we used in this lesson. Tap the beat while chanting the refrain.
Topic: Actors Tools & Following Directions

Extensions:
Read aloud books that have options for repetition, mimicking and action. The Old Man and the Turnip is an example.
