Extensions:
Practice using the voice in four ways (sing, speak, whisper, shout).
Have students listen (to you or recorded examples) and identify the voice type they hear.
Learn to sing a song with the class. We sang "Head, Shoulders, Knees, and Toes" (and the R&B version) in our lesson. Bonus points if the students help select the song!
Review the book “All Are Welcome” by Alexandra Penfold, which we may have used in this lesson.
Topic: Actor's Tools
Objective: I can communicate using my actor's tools.
Vocabulary: ensemble, actor, actor's tools, actor neutral, audience, volume, imagination, mimic
Extensions:
Name the actor's tools (voice, body and imagination). Have students demonstrate their actor warm up.
Practice using voice and body in different ways to communicate different ideas. Pose scenarios when each use of the body and voice is appropriate or tells a story.
