Objective (long-term):
Build peer learning culture.
One of the CETL's programs is facilitating SU Teaching Observation (Teaching and Learning - NECHE 6.17). The process of conducting the SU Teaching Observation involves various steps to ensure the quality of teaching at the university. The head of CETL will play a significant role in this endeavor by participating as one of the observers. The purpose of the teaching observation is to assess and enhance the teaching methods employed by lecturers.
During this process, designated observers will attentively witness teaching sessions conducted by different instructors. They will focus on various aspects, such as instructional techniques, student engagement, classroom management, and the overall effectiveness of the teaching approach. In addition, the active learning classroom is also included as the main focus during the observation process. The Head of CETL and other observers will meticulously record and scrutinize the teaching methods, offering significant insights.
The Guidelines for the Teaching Observation are provided below.
