Doc.: "Active Learning Institute" Workshop - A.Y. 2023-2024
Strategies: Provide professional development programs for SU faculty members to become excellent in teaching-learning.
CETL will conduct the Active Learning Institute (ALI) as the new initiative program. The ALI is open to all SU faculty members interested in increasing active learning in their courses. The ALI consists of three stages:
Active Learning Workshop: A 1-2 day workshop facilitated by ALI fellows (SU lecturers experienced with active learning strategies or with ALI certification). The participants will explore the purposes and benefits of active learning and learn how to apply these research-based practices in their classrooms.
Active Learning Implementation: (1) planning the active learning implementation, (2) applying active learning in the real classroom, and (3) classroom observation, self-reflection, and post-observation conference.
ALI Reflective Essay Writing: A personal narrative essay explores the participant's experience and insights from the ALI program. The essay involves thoughtful introspection, critical analysis, and self-assessment, focusing on the impact of the ALI program on both the lecturer and the students.
Successful completion of all stages of ALI provides the participants with their ALI certification and disseminates their ALI experiences in the next ALI program.
