Mastering Your Admissions Essays

Students will learn the most effective techniques in writing their college admissions essays for applying to post-secondary institutions from qualified VCU PECS peer mentors. Appropriating many creative elements of engaging storytelling, students will present their best and honest selves on their admissions essays following guided introspection. Students will also be encouraged to ask for all the advice they want from PECS's peer mentors for navigating the college application process. By the end of the semester, students will have successfully created all their application accounts, finished a handful of college admissions essays, and have all their application questions answered by most major application deadlines. Dispositions: Creativity, Organization, Self-Reflection.
