Urban Beekeeping is an exciting partnership between Open High, Richmond Parks Department, and the Oregon Hill Neighborhood Association. Volunteer beekeepers will be assisting us as we learn about bees, beekeeping, and pollinators. We will study hive maintenance with two hives located near the school. Student safety is of utmost importance, and safety techniques and procedures will be part of the class. Students are expected to wear protective suits and gloves as directed by instructors. Participation is limited and all students must sign a safety contract and waiver of liability. This class will require an additional commitment from students to care for beehives throughout the year. You must see Clary BEFORE you register. Dispositions: Intellectual Curiosity, Community Engagement, Responsibility
