Exposure to college campuses and activities is a big part of the Puente program, so each year, students have the opportunity to tour various college campuses across California.
Freshmen begin with tours of our local colleges and universities. Our goal is to introduce students to the great college campuses located in our own backyard, as well as provide them information on college admission requirements (A-G Requirements), campus life and activities, and extracurricular offerings.

The Puente Student Leadership Conference (SLC) is an annual experience for Puente freshmen. This trip is a high energy and engaging space to empower Puentistas to continue on their path toward higher education.
The Puente Student Leadership Conference (SLC) is an annual experience for Puente freshmen. This trip is a high energy and engaging space to empower Puentistas to continue on their path toward higher education.
At the conference, in partnership with a UC or CSU campus, 9th grade Puentistas will hear messages from dynamic speakers and inspiring thinkers, including such former keynote speakers as; Erika L. Sánchez, author of I Am Not Your Perfect Mexican Daughter, Sandra Cisneros, author of The House on Mango Street, Sonia Nazario, author of Enrique's Journey, and Reyna Grande, author of The Distance Between Us. At this conference, you will also receive resources and support for your path to a four-year university and beyond.
