8" cork globe with pins and embroidery thread
The Movement of Humans
Noah Parenteau
For my art piece, I used a foam ball and painted it, then I modge-podge a couple of pictures of blank continents to the ball and then drew a whole bunch of arrows from a couple of continents to another to show the most immigrated places and the top places that immigrate to that country. After I finished, I thought it was sloppy, so I got a cork globe and put pins in it of the top 5 countries that people emigrate to and the top 3 places that immigrate to that country. The reason I did this is that there are a lot of people that come from different countries to America to get jobs and to have the family life they want. I also added quotes all over the globe about people seeking asylum, or about people immigrating to other countries.
The whole point of this project is to let people know that some human rights are not followed. People have to know their human rights to stand up for themselves and others. The message I'm trying to get out is that no matter who you are, you can seek asylum wherever you want, whenever you want, and that you shouldn't hold back your dreams if you don't have to.
