FMS 2020-21

2019-20 was a year like no one could have predicted and the 2020-21 school year looks like it will also be unconventional. This spring and summer we have been working hard to try to be ready for what the new school year will bring us. We first and foremost want to make sure our students, staff, and families are safe. When it has been determined safe to return to school, we will return, but it will not look the same as it did last February.

We have been preparing for types of learning models. Remote Learning (Red), Hybrid Learning (Yellow) and In-Person learning (Green). The RSU5 School Board has decided that all of our schools will start in Yellow/Hybrid. I am entering the year with mindset that we will transition between some of the models during the course of the year.

On the following webpages are the plans for each learning model that have being developed by the FMS staff and the RSU5 Reopening Committee. Please take your time to read each of the plans and feel free to reach out to me directly if you questions, concerns, or suggestions on how to improve the plan. We all want what is best for our students' safety, health, and education. Please watch our new procedures video to get a better idea of what FMS will look and feel like (link to be added shortly).

If you have elected for the remote learning option and have questions, please contact Lisa Demick (demickl@rsu5.org) or Cynthia Alexander (alexanderc@rsu5.org).
