Hand Project

This is a painting of an aerial view of a person with their arms on a wooden table. They are holding a cup of coffee. The materials I used were pastel, watercolor, fine sharpie, and colored pencil. I began this painting by sketching out the hands in the position I wanted them in. I then began drawing the flannel with pastels and filling it in with water color. I used colored pencils for the lines on the table and went over it with water color. It took me awhile to decide the design in the coffee but I eventually went with zentangles on the outside. I outlined everything with sharpie and mounted it onto black paper. I found my inspiration for this from something I enjoy doing, sitting and having a cup of coffee. If i could go back and change something I would spend more time incorporating zentangles.
