On November 12th, the whole of crossroads learning center had the privilege of listening to members of the American legion which is a group of retired veterans. They came to talk about experiences they had whilst in the military and the importance of veterans day. Three of the members demonstrated the proper way to fold the american flag for military funerals and events. We first went to the lunch room and we sat down and there was some Veterans sitting down. They started with the pledge and after that, They told us when they fold the American Flag that each fold has a meaning and there are 13 folds when they folded the flag. After that they talked about how they got into the U.S military. They also told us in what war they served in and what they did and how long they were in the military. Then they also told us what benefits they got after they left the army.
