Math 7 Foundations 

Math 7 Foundations is designed as an intervention course to strengthen basic skills and support student success in Math 7. Placement into this course should concurrent with Math 7 but done through an analysis of multiple forms of assessment data, as well as established criteria and recommendations by the MTSS team.

Throughout Grade 7, students should continue to develop proficiency with the 8 Common Core Standards for Mathematical Practice:

1. Make sense of problems and persevere in solving them.

2. Reason abstractly and quantitatively.

3. Construct viable arguments and critique the reasoning of others.

4. Model with mathematics.

5. Use appropriate tools strategically.

6. Attend to precision.

7. Look for and make use of structure.

8. Look for and express regularity in repeated reasoning.
