Google Sites
Google Sites
Google sites is a basic webpage and website builder. Sites can be used as a class or student blog, a digital portfolio, informational site for classroom materials, webquests, or for a web page project.
Here are just a few of many possibilities:
Portfolios- Sites is a fantastic, user-friendly way for students and teachers alike to collect and publish their own work, analyze growth, etc. This allows one to showcase a wide variety of work with one simple URL!
Collaborative Student Research Projects- Sites is a great way to visually present a variety of information and include a variety of multimedia. Google Sites makes collaboration a breeze- even simultaneous collaboration, so it is a great place for students to collaborate on projects.
Teacher Created Lessons- Have a lesson you are working on? Make it interactive and include all of your multimedia resources. Embed a Google Form Quiz to evaluate learning!
Teacher ASW or PDP Portfolios- Google Sites is a fantastic way to collect and publish student examples for your ASW or just as evidence for your End of Year evaluation.
Staff Development/ Training- Because of its ease and versatility, the Google Sites is a fantastic way to deliver staff development or training, using a variety of files and multimedia.
Collaborative Teacher Resources Home- Again, because of its easy collaborative nature, Sites is a wonderful place for teachers to collaborate as well and a great place for teachers, committees, PLCs, and other groups to store shared resources.
Digital Breakouts- Digital Breakouts are a fantastic and engaging way to get students interested in what you're teaching, as well as engage their problem-solving and collaborative skills. Go to https://sites.google.com/ or navigate in your Google Drive to NEW and then Sites.
If you have examples of Sites that students have created and which you would like to contribute so others can see, contact Susan.Uram@rps205.com and share the link so that others can experience them.
