Tech Tools for 2018-2019

We are excited utilize a variety of tech tools that will be available on a district level, giving you access to upgraded features and capabilities.

For the current school year, we are making Nearpod Platinum available for any secondary educator who would like to use it. You must attend an initial training session in order to receive the upgraded version. We are also purchasing Seesaw for Schools for all TK-2 grade teachers. A training session will be held to introduce the upgraded features available with Seesaw for Schools.

Nearpod Platinum

Nearpod is an interactive learning platform that allows you to find or create lessons that students engage with and provides you with immediate feedback on students' understanding of the content. You can build lessons in Nearpod, upload your existing PowerPoint or Google Slide presentations, or search the Nearpod library for pre-made lessons that can be used immediately or edited to fit your students' needs. Nearpod works on all devices and can be used for in-class activities as well as homework.

With Nearpod Platinum (the upgraded version), you can have up to 75 students in a lesson at a time (versus 30 students with the free version). You can also use Student-Paced Mode which allows students to interact with the lesson at their own speed. Additionally, Nearpod Platinum has premium features, such as the ability to add web content, embed YouTube videos, use Virtual Field Trips, and generate individual student reports, that are not available in the free version. You also have access to over 6500 ready made lessons that you can use. For more information on the features of Nearpod Platinum, check out this PDF overview.

Seesaw for Schools

Seesaw for Schools is the upgraded version of Seesaw that allows students' portfolios to follow them from year to year. Parents also only need to sign up once and they will be able to see their child progress from year to year.

Seesaw for Schools allows you to schedule activities, have access to a school library to collaborate and share activities, as well as use private notes and folders. The Skills feature of Seesaw for Schools allows you to tag students' posts with standards and get real-time insight into their progress.
