In spring of each year, new officers will be selected by the coaching staff in consultation with the Team Captain for the next year.  If you are interested in holding an office simply email the coaching staff to let them know you are interested no later than April 15th of the school year.

President - This person is the right hand communicator for the coaching staff.  They are required to be at all meetings and should discuss with the coaching staff before the meeting the agenda for all meetings.    This person must be a regular competitor, but no specific events are required.  This person will also serve as the tournament director at any contest hold by the Westwood team and will need to be in attendance and run many of the planning meetings for our tournament.  In addition, they should be a highly visible member of at squad fundraisers.  This person is in charge of all other officers and captains.  Finally, this person is the final liaison between the team and our consultants and booster club. 

Vice President - The Vice President is in charge of representing the team to the school and larger community.  Any and all participation of the team in school events from Homecoming to Mr and Ms Westwood is the purview of this individuals.  This person is also tasked with communication the team to the school newspaper, yearbook and larger media and school board.  As is typical they stand in for the President when needed as well. 

LD Debate Captain - This person must be an LD competitor.  The largest duty of this person is organizing and coordinating LD practice and research assignments with the coaching staff.  

PD Captain- -  This person must be an Policy competitor.  The largest duty of this person is organizing and coordinating Policy practice and research assignments with the coaching staff.  

PF Debate Captain -  This person must be an PF competitor.  The largest duty of this person is organizing and coordinating PF practice and research assignments with the coaching staff.  

Novice Coordinators - This person, in their selective event, main duty is supporting the integration and competitive success of our 1st year competitors. 

Secretary - This person must be a competitive member of the team.  The central role of this person is to organize all paperwork and meetings for the team.  They should assist with all Team Captain activities and will be Assistant Tournament Director for our tournament.  This person is also in charge of tournament itineraries and team promotion events in coordination with the historian. They will work heavily with the Novice Captain to organize recruitment events.

Treasurer - This person must be a competitive member of the team.  The central role of this person is the organization and collection of all financial aspects of the team.  They will assist the coaching staff with keeping accurate team financial records.  They will also act as the go to person for questions about due, fees and fundraisers.  This person is also the central person for collecting and organizing funds for fundraisers and team spending.  Finally, this person is in charge of all financial assistance necessary for the booster club.

Historian - This person must be a competitive member of the team.  The central role of this person is maintaining and organizing social events.   They will work with the booster club to organize and plan the end of the year banquet and team awards.  Finally, this person is in charge of, in coordination with the Team Captain and coaching staff, all public announcements about the team. Finally, this person is in charge of maintain our historical record of tournament participation and success.

Publicist - As the title explains this person is in charge of the promotion and celebration of the team in the form of Warrior Updates, Monthly Newsletters' and Social Media.

Team Manager - This individual is our office manager.  They are in charge or all of our systems but physical and electronic on the team.  From tabroom, nsda, dropbox and the inventor of the debate classroom and subsequent trophy locations.   They maintain the classroom displays and team supplies.
