How can debate help me get into College?

The skills and experiences learned in debate are the same that are used by successful collegiate students.  The research indicates a clear link between testing scores for debate students above the average students, but debate or forensics, in general, can also be a key to link yourself to college.  This guide will hopefully be helpful.

Recommendation Letters

All students who receive a double ruby, 500 points, or higher are eligible for my recommendation.  Other students may request and depending on the the amount of graduates making a request may be accommodated. Please try to request your letters no later than August 1st of your senior year.

Scholarships

There are many scholarship opportunities for debater and in general debater will always access college entrance and open scholarships more easily.  This list provide you with some of the opportunities related to participation in college and otherwise.   Information about more opportunities will soon more posted where.
