The speech and debate team appreciates the contribute that our parents make to our success. We could not do it without you! But there are always more things that we need help with to grow and be the successful team we seek to be. There are multiple opportunities for you to contribute and make our team the success that your student deserves. If you are able and willing to help with any of these please email our Coach.

The following are ways that you can contribute to the team.

1. Volunteer to Judge at a Local Tournament - Judging requirements are one of our greatest expenses and your time means a lot, not just because it saves us money, but also because your support sends a clear message to the team about how much parents support what we do. If you are interested in learning more about what your son or daughter does this is a great place to start. These are two under ten minute training videos that can tell you about what we do, but also how to help. Use this information to get registered to judge online.

2. Volunteer at our Debate and Academic Tournaments -Westwood TFA Tournament is scheduled in the fall and our UIL tournament is scheduled in the spring each year. We will have over 500 student competitors and 50 adults. We will need help in the hospitality room; at concession and with donated items for both of these locations. We can start accepting donated non-perishable materials for our tournament now. If you are willing to make a dish or other items for our judges and coaches, volunteer to judge at our tournament or simply do what you can it will make everything go better for our largest annual fundraiser. As a coach of a team, I can confirm that tournaments that have the best hospitality and concessions are the ones that everyone wants to come back to again.
