Life Cycles

The student is expected to investigate and compare how animals and plants undergo a series of orderly changes in their diverse life cycles.

In second grade, students investigate and record some of the unique stages that insects undergo during their life cycle. This included butterflies that go through separate, distinct stages and grasshoppers that grow in size through the nymph stage, but resemble the adult shortly after birth.

In third grade, students investigate and compare how animals and plants undergo a series of orderly changes in their diverse life cycles, such as tomato plants, frogs, and beetles.
