Clinical Assignments
Clinical assignments should be obtained the day before the scheduled clinical experience, when possible, so that the student will have adequate time to prepare for the cases. Preparation includes the review of any anesthesia-related history, laboratory and other diagnostic findings, and available physical examinations. Access to electronic health records is preferred to facilitate this process. Otherwise, alternative means for students to obtain the information will need to be arranged.
Students should be assigned cases of increasing complexity, given their level of training and competence at the discretion of the clinical coordinator.
