Year 7 Baseline Tests-  Monday 24th June, Tuesday 25th June, Wednesday 26th & Thursday 27th June 2024

Prior to their start in September, all Year 7 students will be required to sit an online baseline test for both numeracy and literacy. This will enable us to gain a better understanding of the learning levels of our new students. This data along with the data we receive from your child's primary school will enable to provide the best education possible for your child according their current learning level.

Students will be invited in in their primary school class groups, where possible.

Full details of when these test will take place will be emailed in due course.

Year 6 Transition Evening - Thursday 27th June

All new parents and students will be invited to attend a barbecue and have the opportunity to speak to our staff, Governors and other Year 6 parents in an informal setting,  live music will also be provide by some of our older students. This will also be a chance for both you and your child/children to visit the school, meet our amazing staff and see our wonderful facilities. 

You will also be able to attend a presentation delivered by our Headteacher Mr Charlton and our Year 7 Progress Leader (YPL) in the main assembly hall.

Year 6 Taster Day - Friday 28th June, 2024

At the end of June, we welcome all of our new students to attend our school for a Taster Day. During this day , your child will get the opportunity to experience their first Roding Valley lessons, meet their Academic Mentors and some of the teachers they will have in the coming year.

They will also have the opportunity to meet their peers and make new friends within their Year group.

RVHS Summer School:  Wednesday 24th, Thursday 25th & Friday 26th July

As part of our transition process for our 2024 Intake,  this year we will be running a three day Summer School for our September 2024 Year 7 students on Wednesday 24th, Thursday 25th & Friday 26th July.

Our Year 6 Transition Work Booklet

Our Transition booklet provides our intake students with the opportunity to experience our vast curriculum through the tasks within this booklet, it will also allow students to research our school before they start in September!  

This booklet will be provided to all students during the transition day.

We ask that your child bring their booklets to school in September and give them to their Subject Teachers.
