This is an interesting and challenging subject which covers various sociological topics and how sociologists carry out their research. Students need to have an active interest in current affairs, a willingness to undertake background reading and an ability to produce well-structured written work.
Students will be doing the AQA Sociology GCSE.

Pupils complete three compulsory units in Year 11 for their Unit Two Exam:
Crime and deviance
Social stratification
Sociological research methods
Pupils complete both exams for Unit One and Unit Two at the end of Year 11. Each exam will be worth 50% of their GCSE.
Grades will be the new 9 to 1 system not A*-G. There is no coursework requirement for this course
