This is an interesting and challenging subject which covers various topics related to the brain and behaviour and investigates how psychologists carry out their research. Students need to have an active interest in human behaviour, a willingness to engage with research and an ability to describe, apply and evaluate theories and studies.

Students are doing the AQA Psychology GCSE.
Students complete four compulsory Units in Year 10 for their Paper 1 Exam:
Memory
Development
Perception
Research methods
Students complete three compulsory units in Year 11 for their Paper Two Exam:
Social Influence
Psychological problems
Language, thought and communication
Brain and Neuropsychology
Pupils complete both exams at the end of Year 11. Each exam will be worth 50% of their GCSE.
Grades will be the 9 to 1 system. There is no coursework requirement for this course.
