VECTRIC V-CARVE

On 1/31/24 Jim Berry purchased an annual license for VCarve Pro Makerspace Edition V11. This gives us support and free software upgrades for one year. It also allows us to install the software on up to 5 computers located at the makespace.  The support subscription was renewed on 2/1/25 for $99.

Makerspace Client Edition:

• RG members can install a Client version of the software on their personal PC's *after* they are registered as clients under RG's Vectric account.  In order to make this purchase, we need to associate you with our license first.

• Post to Robot Garden's #SIG-CNC channel in Slack to request being added to our V-Carve makerspace license.

• Once you are registered as an RG member under our Vectric account, you will be supplied with a registration key. You will install a trial edition of their VCarve Pro software onto your personal computer then enter the registration key.

• Any cut files created in the client software will only work under RG's Makerspace license.

LIGHTBURN SOFTWARE

RG uses a LightBurn Pro software license to control the laser cutter. This software is also a graphics editing app with lots of functionality. It can be used in place of Illustrator and other vector graphic editing applications.

Primary License

• The LightBurn Pro license allows for installation on up to 3 computers. So, three computers are available at the makerspace to use LightBurn. Additional  License Seats are available to purchase at a discount for people who want to run their own local license at home.

• File types that it can import:

  • AI, SVG, DXF, PDF, HPGL, PLT, and RD for vector formats.

  • PNG, JPEG, BMP, TIFF, TGA, and GIF for bitmap image formats.

• LightBurn can trace teh outline of a raster/bitmap image and convert it to a vector image. (This feature is known as Image Trace in Adobe Illustrator.) This is a useful feature for creating Shadowboards for toolboxes.

• Members can use Robot Garden's license key to purchase their own Additional Seat License for personal use. As of this writing, they are $50 each. Use the License Key below to initiate the purchase. In order to make this purchase, we need to associate you with our license first.
