Sanchong Air Force Military Kindred Village No.1 is on Zhengyi South Road, Sanchong. It is close to Taipei Bridge MRT Station.  

Brief History

In the past, Japanese and Kuomintang troops were successively stationed there due to the critical location for protecting the Government-General of Taiwan, which later became the Presidential Office Building. We can still see underground dugouts and artillery historical sites left from the Japanese colonial period. National Women’s League of the R.O.C. built Air Force Military Kindred Village No.1 here in 1954. In 2006, it was officially recorded as New Taipei City’s historical architecture.  

The architecture of the Village

It had four types of houses: special grade, class A, class B, and class C. Houses were rationed according to the rank of the military personnel and the family size. Special grade houses were arranged for generals and captains. These houses were spacious and had a yard. By contrast, class C houses were around twenty square meters each as they were built for couples or single people. There was no space for a bathroom and a kitchen. People who lived in class C houses had to use the public bathrooms in the village and cook outside their houses. Now we can still visit several remaining old houses including the special grade ones. There, we can see some nostalgic furniture, mosaic bathtubs, ground glass windows, and so forth. Immersing in the old days is an unforgettable experience.

簡史

過去，日本與國民黨的軍隊曾經因為其至關重要的戰略位置（保護台灣總督府，也就是戰後的總統府）而設軍駐守於此。時至今日，我們仍可見到從日治時期遺留下來的地下防空洞與大砲遺址。中華民國婦女聯合會於西元1954年，在此處興建三重空軍新村。西元2006年，此處被正式登錄為新北市定古蹟。

空軍一村的建築風格

空軍一村有四種房舍：特級、甲級、乙級、丙級。房舍的分級主要根據軍人之軍階及其家庭大小。特級房舍主要分配給將軍與上校，這些房子通常都很寬敞，並且設有庭院。與之相比，丙級房舍只有六坪，是給一對夫妻或是單身者居住。丙級房舍通常沒有廁所與廚房，因此住在丙級房舍的人必須使用村內的公共衛浴，在房舍外煮飯。現在我們仍可以造訪遺留下來的舊房子，其中包含了特級房舍。在那裡，我們可以看見懷舊風的家具、馬賽克拼貼的浴缸、磨砂玻璃窗等。來這裡沉浸於過往時光肯定是難忘的回憶。
