Hardware Solutions

RPS offers hardware solutions based on need, and follow a least restrictive protocol, meaning that we first offer the same device across buildings and grades as much as possible, whether a student has an IEP, 504 plan or not.

iPads: often used in the early grades, for AAC due to the nature of AAC app development, and for very robust skill building apps such as from Crick Software. iPads also support Google Apps.

Chromebooks: used in upper elementary, middle and high schools, although many students retain their iPad as needed.

Laptops or tablets are available for those instances where an iPad or Chromebook are unable to provide access to the curriculum or aid in progress toward goals and objectives. An AT evaluation or consultation is typically requested to confirm these needs.
