AAC apps allow for backup and restore options across multiple devices so that all team members have access to the same student grid and can update that grid as needed.
Each offers a grid solution that presents core vocabulary in a way that gives a person access to expression of not only wants and needs, but social, emotional and informational communication. The AAC app allows a student to have a voice while they continue to work on all communication skills. This 'whole communication approach' allows for all forms of communication.

It should be noted that assistive technology is a tool, and that a student’s educational program includes other tools to maximize educational potential. Assistive technology should be used to address a need that cannot be accomplished through other tools or strategies, or when learning could be improved via alternative media presentation. For assistive technology to be successful, it should be embedded and integrated into the student’s typical educational routines and curriculum. Moreover, the assistive technology strategies used are crucial and require ongoing team planning and associated modifications based on the student’s performance and changing educational demands. The logistical issues require special team attention and planning for successful assistive technology implementation.
